17th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation: Presentation & Paper

QWED delegation arrived in Florence on the evening of March 28th. Florence is a beautiful city with a rich cultural and historical heritage. One of the curiosities we learned during our stay was that Florence was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and home to many great artists, writers, and thinkers of that period. We were excited to be in this beautiful city and to attend the EuCAP 2023 Conference. On the morning of March 29th, we made our way to the Firenze Fiera – Fortezza da Basso, where the EuCAP 2023 Conference was being held. The Fortezza da Basso is a historical fortress built in the 16th century by the famous architect Antonio da Sangallo the Younger. The fortress was designed to be a defense system for the city of Florence, and it has since been repurposed as a Congress and Exhibition Centre.

During our visit, we learned that the Fortezza da Basso has a rich history, having been used for various purposes over the years. For instance, during World War II, the fortress was used as a storage facility for works of art that had been evacuated from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. It was fascinating to learn about the many uses of this historical site and how it has been preserved over the years.

The EuCAP 2023 Conference was held from March 26th to March 31st in the Fortezza da Basso. The conference brought together experts in the field of antennas and propagation to share their latest research and discoveries. During the conference, we attended many fascinating talks and presentations that covered a broad range of topics related to antennas and propagation. We were impressed by the level of expertise of the presenters and the quality of their work. It was an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest research and developments in the field.

On Thursday, March 30th, there was a poster session on electromagnetism, where we presented our recent work in the I4BAGS and NanoBat projects. Our poster was titled „Benchmarking Conformal FDTD Algorithm for Efficient mm-Wave Design of Multiflare Antennas„. We were excited to share our work with the other conference attendees and to receive feedback from them.

During the poster session, we had many interesting conversations with other researchers and learned about their work. We were pleased to receive positive feedback on our poster and to discuss potential collaborations with other researchers.

The EuCAP 2023 Conference was an excellent opportunity for us to learn about the latest research and developments in the field of antennas and propagation. We were impressed by the level of expertise of the presenters and the quality of their work. We also enjoyed the beautiful city of Florence and the historical Fortezza da Basso. We are grateful for the opportunity to attend this conference and look forward to future events.
